What happened
A cargo flight operating between Beirut and London, which included a scheduled stop at Ciampino Airport in Rome, disappeared during its transit. While the four-engine aircraft was cruising over the Mediterranean Sea, it reportedly became uncontrollable and descended into the water.
The flight crew did not manage to transmit any distress signals before the impact occurred. Following the disappearance, search and rescue operations were initiated to locate the wreckage and the personnel on board. However, after several days of searching, the mission was terminated as no debris or signs of the aircraft were located. All five crew members are presumed lost.
Findings
Due to the lack of recoverable wreckage or flight data, investigators could not establish a definitive reason for the crash. The official investigation concluded that there was insufficient evidence to identify the specific factor that led to the loss of control.
