Investigation and Probable Cause
The investigation was conducted by a commission established by the Minister of Public Works and Transport. The commission included experts in airworthiness, aeronautical engineering, and health.
The probable cause of the accident was a loss of control of the helicopter during a visual approach to Djougou airfield, resulting from a failure of the power transmission system following the rupture of the main gearbox (MGB) shaft.
