What happened
A twin-engine aircraft departed from Uyuni-La Joya Andina Airport, bound for La Paz, with a total of seven people on board, including three crew members and four passengers. During the approach phase to El Alto Airport, the flight crew encountered an unforeseen emergency situation.
In response to the developing circumstances, the captain initiated an emergency landing procedure targeting an open field near the destination. As the twin-engine aircraft made contact with the ground, the landing gear was ripped from the airframe. The aircraft continued to slide across the terrain for several dozen meters before coming to a complete stop approximately 6 km from the airport.
Despite the impact, all seven occupants of the aircraft managed to exit the wreckage without sustaining any injuries. The aircraft itself sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
