What happened
During a flight intended for cloud seeding operations over the Mopti region, an aircraft was in the process of returning to Bamako-Senou Airport. While approaching the airfield, the aircraft experienced a landing incident where it settled onto its undercarriage/belly. The impact resulted in the plane sliding for several dozen meters along the ground before eventually coming to a stop on the right side of runway 06/24.
There were no fatalities or injuries reported, as the pilot was able to exit the aircraft without harm. However, the structural damage sustained during the sliding motion was severe enough that the aircraft was declared a total loss.
Findings
The specific reasons for the landing gear failure or the loss of control leading to the belly landing remain undetermined at this time.
