What happened
During a flight originating from La Carlota and destined for Barinas, the aircraft experienced a simultaneous loss of power in both engines while maintaining cruising altitude. Following this mechanical failure, the crew initiated emergency procedures and attempted to execute an emergency landing within a nearby prairie.
During the descent and landing attempt, the aircraft struck the ground and suffered a structural failure, resulting in the fuselage breaking into two separate sections. Despite the severity of the impact, all eight occupants were successfully rescued from the wreckage. Among the survivors, the pilot sustained injuries during the event.
Findings
- The primary factor leading to the crash landing was the loss of power in both engines during the cruise phase of the flight.
