What happened
A training mission conducted from Chaklala-Nur Khan AFB ended in a catastrophic accident when a twin engine airplane lost control during its flight. The aircraft was operating a local training mission with a total of five crew members on board at the time of the incident.
While in flight, the aircraft deviated from its intended path and descended into the suburb of Mora Kalu, situated approximately 10 km south of the airfield in Islamabad. Upon impact, the plane struck several residential structures, triggering a massive fire that consumed both the aircraft and the impacted buildings. The collision and subsequent blaze resulted in 19 fatalities, comprising all five crew members and 14 individuals residing on the ground. The wreckage and several homes were completely destroyed by the impact and fire.
Findings
The crash occurred when the aircraft went out of control during the flight phase, leading to the impact with the residential area.
