What happened
A twin-engine airplane was conducting an emergency medical transport mission, traveling from Lusaka to Johannesburg. During the descent toward Jan Smuts Airport, the pilot encountered degraded visibility caused by adverse weather conditions. As a result of the poor weather, the flight crew decided to divert the aircraft to Lanseria Airport.
Shortly after initiating the diversion, while performing the approach to Lanseria, the twin-engine airplane crashed. The accident occurred under circumstances that remain unconfirmed. There were five fatalities recorded among the occupants of the aircraft.
