What happened
On a night ferry flight departing from Foz do do Iguaçu Airport at 22:15 local time, an aircraft bound for Curitiba experienced a catastrophic loss of power. Approximately 55 minutes after takeoff, while the aircraft was maintaining its cruising altitude, the right engine ceased functioning. Shortly after this initial failure, the left engine also failed.
In response to the loss of both engines, the crew initiated a descent to a lower altitude and attempted to perform an emergency landing. However, the aircraft struck a grassy area in the vicinity of Irati. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. Regarding the occupants, the copilot was able to exit the wreckage without injuries, while the captain sustained injuries during the accident.
Findings
