Incident
A twin-engine aircraft departed Bogotá-El Dorado Airport on runway 13L, operating an ambulance flight to Leticia. The aircraft carried three doctors and two pilots. Shortly after takeoff, during the initial climb, the crew contacted air traffic control and declared an emergency. The aircraft rolled to the right, then entered an uncontrolled descent. It crashed onto several houses in the Fontibón neighborhood and burst into flames.
Casualties
All five occupants of the aircraft—the three doctors and two pilots—were killed. Additionally, two people on the ground lost their lives.
Probable Cause
According to the official investigation, the exact cause of the accident could not be determined.
