What happened
An ambulance mission departing from Bogotá-El Dorado Airport ended in a fatal accident during the early stages of flight. The twin engine aircraft had taken off from runway 13L, bound for Leticia, with a total of five people on board, including two pilots and three doctors.
During the initial climb phase, the flight crew notified air traffic control of an emergency situation. Following this communication, the aircraft experienced a right-hand roll and transitioned into an uncontrolled descent. The plane struck several residential structures within the Fontibón neighborhood. The impact caused the aircraft to burst into flames upon hitting the houses.
Fatalities
- The crash resulted in seven fatalities in total.
- All five individuals on board the aircraft perished.
- Two people located on the ground were also killed in the impact and subsequent fire.
