What happened

Approximately 12 minutes following its departure from Maracaibo-La Chinita Airport, a twin engine airplane experienced an uncontrolled descent. While maintaining an altitude of 10,000 feet, the aircraft fell into Lake Maracaibo. The impact with the water caused the airframe to disintegrate. The flight was traveling toward its destination at Porlamar-Del Caribe-General en Jefe Santiago Mariño Airport when the incident occurred.
