What happened
On the morning of the accident, a twin engine airplane departed from Belo Horizonte-Pampulha-Carlos Drummond de Andrade Airport at 08:20 local time. The flight was a private operation destined for Confresa, carrying a total of six people, including the pilot and five passengers.
During the descent toward Confresa, the pilot altered the flight path to head toward Fazenda Angola, a private farm located approximately 80 km northeast of the Confresa Airport. As the aircraft was performing its final approach to the farm, it maintained an insufficient altitude. The plane struck the surface of a lake and subsequently hit a bank. The force of the impact caused the undercarriage to be ripped from the airframe, leading to a crash landing where the aircraft came to rest on its belly. There was no post-crash fire.
Findings
- All six occupants sustained injuries during the impact, with one individual suffering serious wounds.
- The aircraft type was destroyed beyond repair due to the structural damage sustained during the collision with the water and bank.
