What happened
During the final approach phase of flight toward Treasure Cay Airport, a twin engine airplane experienced a loss of control. The aircraft deviated from its intended path and descended into the ocean several miles away from the coastline.
There was only one person on board at the time of the accident. The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and was killed in the crash. The wreckage of the plane was lost following the impact with the sea.
Findings
No specific technical reasons for the loss of control were documented in the initial report, though the incident occurred while the aircraft was attempting to land at the airport.
