What happened

An aircraft departed from Tuxtla Gutiérrez-Francisco Sarabia Airport and proceeded toward Palenque Airport without incident during the initial stages of the flight. As the flight progressed, the crew began their descent into the destination area, which was characterized by restricted visibility at the time.

During the approach phase, the twin engine airplane struck a slope within a forested region of the Cerro Norte. The impact occurred approximately 12 km southwest of Palenque Airport. The force of the collision caused the aircraft to break apart upon hitting the ground.

There were no survivors of the accident. The crash resulted in all occupants killed, including the pilot, the co-pilot, and several passengers.
