During descent to Yurimaguas Airport, a right engine fire and explosion led to an emergency landing near Pongo de Caynarachi. The aircraft was destroyed, but both pilots escaped uninjured.

Incident

While descending to Yurimaguas-Moisés Benzaquen Rengifo Airport, the right engine of the aircraft caught fire and exploded. For reasons that remain unknown, the flight crew was unable to extinguish the fire. The flames subsequently spread to the right wing.

Emergency Landing

The crew initiated an emergency descent and attempted to land the aircraft near Pongo de Caynarachi, approximately 50 kilometers south of Yurimaguas. During the landing, the aircraft lost its undercarriage and slid for several dozen meters before coming to rest, at which point it burst into flames.

Aftermath
