What happened
During a flight toward Blumenau Airport, the flight crew encountered adverse weather conditions that prompted a decision to divert the flight to Navegantes-Itajaí Airport. While performing the approach to runway 25, the aircraft was operating at a low altitude when the captain executed a turn to the left.
During this maneuver, the twin engine aircraft collided with the crest of a hill. The impact caused the plane to crash and subsequently burst into flames. There were four fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft.
