What happened
On 24 August 2001, a Boeing 737-2T5, registered EI-CON, was positioned at Stand B23R at London Stansted Airport. The incident involved the aircraft's commander and required a review of the pilot's recent flight hours.
The investigation
Following an investigation into the occurrence, the AAIB identified an error in the previously published records regarding the commander's recent flying experience. The initial report incorrectly stated that the pilot had completed 200 hours of flight time within the preceding 28-day period.
Upon further review of the records, it was established that the actual flight time for the commander during the last 28 days was 93 hours. The corrected flight experience for the commander is documented as 10,500 total hours, with 6,000 hours performed on this specific aircraft type. The corrected recent experience figures are 200 hours for the last 90 days and 93 hours for the last 28 days.
