What happened
Operating under the call sign Tanker 9, an aircraft was deployed to the Esine region to assist in suppressing a forest fire. The active fire was situated on the southern slope of the Val Camonica, approximately 8 nautical miles northeast of Lake Iseo. As the aircraft approached the designated area for fire treatment, it made contact with trees and subsequently crashed into the mountain slope.
