What happened
During a scheduled training session at Lac-Caché, the crew of the aircraft, operating under callsign Tanker 16/Quebec 716, was performing a series of maneuvers. The mission objectives included practicing scooping techniques and touch-and-go landings. During these operations, the seaplane experienced a heavy impact upon landing on the water. This forceful contact caused the aircraft to overturn, subsequently leading it to sink.
As a result of the accident, there was one fatality and one injury. The pilot was killed in the event, while the second crew member sustained injuries during the incident.
Findings
