An aircraft flying from Medan to Meulaboh crashed in a swampy region following the loss of hydraulic pressure and subsequent engine shutdowns.

What happened

During a flight originating in Medan and destined for Meulaboh, the crew experienced a significant drop in hydraulic pressure approximately thirty minutes after departure. In response to this mechanical failure, the flight crew proceeded to shut down the left engine and feather the propeller.

Following this action, the aircraft struggled to sustain its assigned altitude and began exhibiting signs of instability. To manage the situation, the crew also deactivated the right engine. During the subsequent attempt to perform an emergency landing, the aircraft type struck trees before coming to rest in a swampy area.

As a result of the impact, there was one fatality among the occupants, while 13 injuries were reported.
