What happened
On the morning of June 21, a charter flight departed from Yaoundé-Nsimalen Airport at 09:13 local time. The flight was destined for Yangadou, an airstrip utilized by various iron mining operations in northern Congo. During the flight, the crew maintained communication with air traffic control until 09:51 local time, at which point the aircraft ceased all radio transmissions and vanished from radar monitoring.
Following the disappearance, search efforts led to the discovery of the wreckage near Mintom at approximately 17:00 local time. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were no survivors among the 11 fatalities recorded on the flight. The operation was being carried out on behalf of Cam Iron, a Cameroonian firm acting as a subcontractor for the Australian-based Sundance Resources Group.
