What happened
Following its departure from Caracas-Maiquetía-Simon Bolivar Airport, the aircraft encountered severe weather characterized by intense rainfall. While operating in conditions of restricted visibility, the plane collided with the side of Mt El Junquito. The impact occurred in the vicinity of the village of La Sabaneta, situated approximately 25 km from the departure airport.
The collision resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were 25 fatalities recorded, which included both the crew and several passengers.
