What happened
A private flight operating a single-engine airplane departed from Port-au-Prince-Toussaint Louverture Airport, destined for Jacmel. The flight was carrying one pilot and four passengers. During the initial climb phase of the flight, the aircraft experienced mechanical or operational difficulties, causing the plane to lose altitude.
While descending, the aircraft struck a truck on a roadway in the Carrefour area, situated approximately 12 km southwest of the departure airport. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. The collision caused the deaths of the pilot, four passengers, and the driver of the truck. Although one passenger survived the initial impact, they succumbed to their injuries a few hours after the accident.
