What happened
Shortly after departing from San Juan de Maniare, an unspecified single-engine aircraft encountered difficult weather conditions. During the initial climb phase, the plane struck a rocky portion of Mt Morrocoy, situated approximately 8 km to the west of the departure point.
The force of the collision caused the total destruction of the airframe. There were four fatalities recorded among the occupants of the aircraft; no survivors were found at the scene.
