What happened
Shortly after departing from San Juan de Manapiare, a single-engine aircraft encountered difficult weather conditions. During the initial phase of the flight, the aircraft struck a rocky section of Mt Morrocoy, situated approximately 8 km to the west of the departure point.
The force of the collision caused the total destruction of the aircraft. There were four fatalities recorded among the occupants of the plane.
Findings
- The accident occurred while the aircraft was operating in marginal weather conditions.
- The impact took place during the early stages of flight following takeoff.
