What happened
A flight operated by the Chadian National Coton Company, CotonTchad, departed from Moundou, Chad, bound for Douala, Cameroon. The aircraft was carrying two pilots and three passengers at the time of the incident. During the flight, the crew contacted air traffic control to report mechanical issues involving the engine and subsequently decided to divert the flight to N'Gaoundéré Airport.
While performing the final approach to the runway, the single-engine aircraft experienced a stall, resulting in a crash into a marshy area situated close to the airport. The impact caused the total destruction of the airframe.
Findings
All five people on board sustained injuries during the accident. Both members of the flight crew suffered serious injuries. While the initial reports indicated five survivors, the pilot later succumbed to his injuries several hours after the crash, resulting in one fatality and four injuries.
