What happened
On the morning of the incident, an aircraft departed from Manaus-Eduardo Gomes International Airport at 09:40 local time. The flight was a short-distance positioning maneuver intended for Manaus-Aeroclub de Flores.
While the aircraft was on its final approach to runway 11, the engine experienced power fluctuations and a subsequent loss of power. In response to the mechanical failure, the pilot attempted to perform an emergency landing. However, the aircraft struck the ground approximately 350 metres before reaching the runway threshold. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that consumed the airframe.
Findings
- The aircraft was destroyed by fire following the impact.
