What happened
On the morning of the accident, a single-engine cargo aircraft departed from Surkhet Airport at 06:12 local time, bound for Simikot. The flight proceeded normally until 06:27 local time, when the crew completed their final radio communication with the Nepalgunj Tower.
During the night portion of the flight, while the aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 12,800 feet, it collided with a mountain slope. The impact occurred in the vicinity of the Simikot Pass, approximately 12 km away from Simikot Airport. The force of the collision caused the aircraft to disintegrate. There were two fatalities among the crew, with no survivors reported.
