Accident Overview
A single-engine airplane operating as scheduled service flight CFV872 departed Hermosillo-General Ignacio Pesqueira García Airport at 0700 local time, bound for Guerrero Negro, Baja California del Sur. The aircraft carried one pilot and one passenger.
Loss of Contact
Approximately 30 minutes into the flight, radio and radar contact with the airplane was lost. No further communications were received.
Wreckage Discovery
Two days after the loss of contact, debris from the aircraft was located in an uninhabited area in the region of Tastiota, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Miguel Alemán.
Damage and Fatalities
The aircraft was totally destroyed upon impact. Both the pilot and passenger were killed in the accident.
