What happened
During the execution of a second Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach, the aircraft descended beneath the required glidepath. This deviation resulted in the plane striking the ground approximately 2,500 feet before reaching the designated landing runway.
Findings
Following the accident, the pilot suggested that a malfunction within the approach lighting system played a role in the descent below the glidepath. However, subsequent technical evaluations of the approach lighting system conducted via a post-accident functional check showed no evidence of irregularities or failures.
