A twin-engine airplane crashed in a wooded area approximately one kilometer from the airfield shortly after departing from Les Cayes-Antoine Simon Airport.

What happened

Shortly after departing from Runway 08 at Les Cayes-Antoine Simon Airport, a twin-engine airplane experienced a loss of altitude. Approximately two minutes into the flight, the aircraft initiated a turn to the right before descending into a forested region situated roughly one kilometer southeast of the airport.

The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were no reports of fire at the crash site following the accident. The incident resulted in two fatalities, as both members of the flight crew were killed in the crash.

Findings

Following the descent and subsequent impact, the investigation noted that the aircraft's flight path involved a right-hand maneuver immediately preceding the loss of altitude.
