Accident Sequence
Following takeoff from Uyuni-La Joya Andina Airport, the crew encountered engine problems while climbing. They initiated an emergency landing procedure, but the aircraft subsequently crashed near the town of Colchani, approximately 16 kilometers north of the airport.
Casualties and Damage
One pilot was killed in the accident. Four other occupants sustained injuries. The aircraft itself was completely destroyed in the crash.
Investigation and Probable Cause
An investigation into the accident was conducted. The official findings state that the probable cause was a failure of the right engine during the initial climb phase, for reasons that remain unknown.
