What happened
Following departure from runway 22 at Libourne-Les Artigues-de-Lussac Airport, a twin-engine aircraft entered its initial climb phase. During this ascent, the aircraft performed a minor rightward turn followed by a leftward turn that resulted in a significant left bank. The aircraft subsequently lost stability and entered an uncontrolled descent.
The plane impacted a forested area situated approximately 2 km from the end of the runway. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire. There were three fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft.
Findings
- The aircraft experienced a strong left bank configuration during the climb phase.
- The flight path involved erratic maneuvering, including a right turn followed by a sharp left turn, prior to the loss of control.
