What happened
Following its arrival at the Rio de Janeiro-Santos Dumont Airport, the aircraft failed to decelerate sufficiently before reaching the end of the runway. Unable to halt within the available runway length, the plane overran the threshold and entered the waters of Guanabara Bay, coming to a stop approximately 100 metres beyond the runway terminus.
During the incident, all eight occupants on board were successfully evacuated from the wreckage. The aircraft remained afloat for a short period before sinking into the bay roughly 30 minutes after the initial excursion.
