What happened
A charter flight departed from Egelsbach Airport at 17:43 local time, bound for Friedrichshafen-Bodensee Airport. The aircraft, carrying two pilots and one passenger, initially maintained a steady flight at FL210. During the descent, the crew communicated with Zurich ARTCC and received clearance to begin their approach, with instructions to expect an ILS approach for runway 24.
While descending through 4,000 feet at a speed of 240 knots, the aircraft was performing a final turn while flying through cloud cover. During this maneuver, the plane entered a rapid and uncontrolled descent. The aircraft subsequently struck a wooded area in Sieberatsreute, approximately 15 km before reaching the destination runway. The impact caused the aircraft to disintegrate, and there were three fatalities among the occupants.
