What happened
On May 30, 2024, at approximately 07:16 local time, a Piper PA25-235, registration HK1325, was conducting specialized agricultural spraying operations near Ibagué, Tolima. The aircraft was engaged in its second flight of the day, tasked with spraying a rice field known as the Fortuna 3 lot in the Andorra area.
During the execution of the final spraying pattern, the pilot performed a tight turn at a low altitude. During this maneuver, the aircraft experienced significant vibrations and entered an aerodynamic stall. The aircraft subsequently struck a line of trees that bordered the spraying field, leading to the destruction of the aircraft and causing one injury to the pilot.
