What happened
A cargo operation scheduled to fly from Bogotá to La Pedrera, which included planned stops at Mitú and Apiay AFB in Villavicencio, ended in a fatal accident. The flight was transporting mail, various goods, four passengers, and four crew members.
During the final phase of the mission, the seaplane attempted to land on the surface of the Río Caqueta near La Pedrera. During this maneuver, the aircraft struck the water and crashed into the river.
Findings
The accident resulted in a total of seven fatalities, including all four passengers and three of the crew members. The remaining crew member survived the impact.
