Emergency Field Landing After Hydraulic Leak Results in Fatalities (CP-961)

Incident Overview A few minutes after departing from San Borja-Capitán Germán Quiroga Guardia Airport, the flight crew reported a hydraulic leak associated with the right engine to air traffic control. The crew was subsequently cleared to return to the airport. During the descent, the crew was unable to maintain a safe altitude and elected to attempt an emergency landing in an open field. On touchdown, the tail section separated from the airframe, and the aircraft came to rest in flames. One passenger was killed in the incident, while 28 other occupants were evacuated, with some sustaining injuries.
