What happened
A cargo operation traveling from Paramaribo to Willemstad, Curaçao, via Georgetown, Guyana, ended in an accident during the second segment of the journey. While maintaining cruise altitude, the crew reported a malfunction involving the right engine to air traffic control. In response to this mechanical issue, the flight crew requested and received authorization to divert to Barcelona for an emergency landing.
As the aircraft type performed its final approach under nighttime conditions, the plane experienced a stall and impacted a field. The accident resulted in one fatality, involving the copilot, and three injuries sustained by the other occupants on board.
