What happened
Shortly after departing from Thompson Airport, the flight crew of the aircraft encountered mechanical difficulties involving the engine. In response to these complications, the decision was made to abort the mission and return to the airport.
During the attempt to return, the aircraft type lost sufficient airspeed and altitude, leaving the crew with no choice but to perform an emergency landing. The descent resulted in the plane impacting trees approximately 24 km southeast of Thompson.
While the impact caused the aircraft to be damaged beyond repair, both members of the flight crew were successfully rescued from the wreckage without reported fatalities. There were 0 fatalities and 2 injuries associated with the incident.
