What happened
During the initial climb phase following departure from Phú Quốc Island Airport, an aircraft experienced a loss of lift and descended into the ocean. The impact occurred just a short distance from the shoreline. The accident resulted in 15 fatalities and left 21 survivors who were subsequently rescued from the water. At the time of the incident, many of the individuals on board were identified as prisoners.
Findings
Investigations into the crash determined that the primary factor leading to the accident was an engine failure occurring during the early stages of the climb.
