What happened
During the takeoff roll phase of flight, an aircraft operating out of Fernie Airfield encountered a physical obstruction on the runway surface. The airplane collided with a runway marker, which caused the vehicle to lose stability and ultimately come to rest upside down.
The incident occurred while the pilot was executing the initial ground roll for departure. Upon impact with the marker, the aircraft's trajectory was altered, leading to the final inverted position. Despite the severity of the collision and the resulting orientation of the airframe, the pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained no injuries.
