A single-engine aircraft with five on board departed Campbell River for Knight's Inlet but failed to arrive. Search and rescue operations found no trace. On July 15, 2005, the wreckage was discovered by families off Quadra Island at a depth of 260 metres.

Disappearance and Search

A single-engine aircraft departed Campbell River on a night flight bound for Knight's Inlet. The aircraft was carrying four passengers and one pilot. When it failed to arrive at its destination, search and rescue operations were initiated by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Despite their efforts, no trace of the airplane or its occupants was found during the initial search.

Wreckage Discovery

On July 15, 2005, the wreckage of the aircraft was located by the families of the victims. It was found at a depth of 260 metres off the coast of Quadra Island. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) did not proceed with any investigation into this occurrence.
