What happened
On a flight traveling from Vilseck toward the Main Airbase in Frankfurt, an aircraft went down in a heavily wooded region situated approximately 4 km north of Lohr am Main. The impact resulted in the aircraft catching fire upon hitting the ground.
Search efforts were delayed as the wreckage was not discovered until two days after the incident occurred. At the time of the crash, the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft. The collision resulted in one fatality.
Findings
