During a night-time training mission, a twin-engine aircraft operated by the 310th Naval Air Squadron crashed into the Indian Ocean. The flight was being conducted as a training sortie originating from the Dabolim-Hansa Naval Air Station in the State of Goa.

The accident occurred approximately 45 km southwest of Dabolim Airport. Following the impact, rescue efforts were able to locate and save the pilot. However, the other two individuals on board, consisting of a second pilot and an observer, were both killed in the crash.
