Accident
Two Indian Navy Ilyushin II-38 aircraft were participating in a demonstration flight at Dabolim Airport to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 315th Squadron, which is based at that airfield. As the aircraft approached the airfield in formation at an altitude of approximately 100 meters, they collided and crashed.
Aircraft
Both aircraft were Ilyushin II-38 models operated by the Indian Navy. Their registrations were IN302 and IN304.
Casualties
All 12 occupants of the two aircraft were killed: five on board IN302 and seven on board IN304. In addition, four people on the ground lost their lives.
