What happened
During the period of the Korean War, an aircraft operated by United States forces disappeared while flying over North Korean territory. The mission details regarding the specific flight path remain unconfirmed, but the aircraft was lost during active operations in the region. Following the disappearance, extensive searches were conducted; however, no wreckage or debris from the airframe was ever located.
No evidence of the crash site has been recovered, and the aircraft remains missing to this day. The loss resulted in 3 fatalities, as all members of the flight crew were unaccounted for following the incident. The personnel on board included two first lieutenants and one staff sergeant.
Findings
No official investigation could conclude the specific circumstances of the disappearance due to the total absence of physical evidence or wreckage. Because no trace of the aircraft was found, it remains impossible to determine if the loss was due to combat action, mechanical failure, or environmental factors during the flight.
