What happened
During a combat mission originating from Phu Cat, a US Air Force gunship was conducting an aerial attack when it encountered hostile ground fire. The aircraft was struck by enemy weapons in the vicinity of Pleiku, leading to its destruction.
There were seven fatalities resulting from the incident, as all personnel on board perished during the engagement. The crew members included one Lieutenant Colonel, one Major, one Captain, one Staff Sergeant, and three Sergeants.
