What happened
Shortly after departing from San Borja-Capitán Germán Quiroga Guardia Airport, the aircraft experienced a mechanical issue when the right engine ceased functioning. In response to the loss of power, the crew initiated emergency procedures and requested permission to return to the airfield for an unplanned landing on runway 18.
During the attempt to land, the flight became unstable. The aircraft was unable to touch down on the designated runway, instead overshooting the threshold and descending into a forested area situated beyond the end of the runway. The impact resulted in seven fatalities among the occupants, while three passengers sustained injuries.
Findings
The investigation determined that the primary factor leading to the accident was the failure of the right engine during the initial climb phase following takeoff.
