What happened

During the descent toward Mostar Airport, the flight crew identified mechanical issues involving the engines. In response to these complications, the captain initiated an emergency descent to lower the aircraft's altitude in an effort to reach the ground safely.

The aircraft subsequently struck a slope on Mt Prenj, situated approximately 28 km north of Mostar Airport. The impact resulted in a crash-landing, and a fire broke out at the site following the collision. Despite the intensity of the post-crash flames, all 32 occupants managed to evacuate the wreckage without loss of life.
