What happened
Following its departure from Asunción-Silvio Pettirossi Airport, the flight crew notified air traffic control of an engine malfunction. In response to this emergency, the aircraft was authorized to perform an immediate return to the airport.
While attempting to execute a turn to align with the approach path, the aircraft entered a stall. The subsequent impact occurred in the Lambaré district, situated approximately 12 km southwest of the departure airfield. The descent ended in a crash into several residential buildings. Among the people on board, there was one fatality and the remaining occupants sustained injuries. No deaths or injuries were reported among the residents on the ground.
Findings
Investigations determined that the primary factor leading to the accident was an engine failure of unknown origin.
