A cargo flight traveling from Santa Ana del Yacuma to La Paz disappeared after impacting a mountain slope, with wreckage discovered years later.

What happened

A cargo flight operating between Santa Ana del Yacuma and La Paz disappeared during its approach to the destination. While the aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 16,000 feet, it collided with the side of Mt Los Novios, situated approximately 28 km north of La Paz.

Following the impact, search and rescue operations were launched to locate the missing flight. However, after several days of searching, the mission was terminated because no evidence of the aircraft or its occupants could be located. The search remained unsuccessful for a significant period until the wreckage was eventually discovered six years after the initial disappearance. In November 2010, the remains of the copilot were recovered from the site.
